June 1^st 2006 – TRAINER v3 Released – Horse Racing Game for the PC

KEYsoft is pleased to announce the release of TRAINERv3. This is the first full release of the TRAINER horse race game series in 2 years. Building on earlier successes this new version features a significant upgrade including new and improved race graphics plus a new set of Post Parade / Paddock screens where you can check out the horses study the form and make a bet before the off.

The new version also includes the first Australia/New Zealand version to add to the updated US/Canada plus UK/Ireland versions. All versions use the same game engine but follow different racing calendars and include different regional graphic elements & terminologies. TRAINER comes with much rich content to add to the simulation experience – the US/Canada version features backdrops from over 20 different North American racecourses. Many of these pictures are taken from the companion World of Horse Racing Photo Gallery which is shipped with the CD version of the game.

The premise of the game is that you are a TRAINER and start off with a barn of unraced two year olds. The game takes you through two seasons and pits you against other stables in the race to be the CHAMPION TRAINER.

In the US/Canada version as your two year old colts and fillies emerge and start to show their abilities you can look forward to the young pretenders who will represent you in the two year trial races such as the Spinaway, Frizette, Hopeful and of course the Breeders' Cup Juvenile races for colts and fillies.

Then at the start of their three year old careers come key races such as the Fountain of Youth at Gulfstream, the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct and the Santa Anita Derby leading up to the Kentucky Derby. Then the Triple Crown series kicks in as the Kentucky Derby winner tackles the Preakness and Belmont Stakes. Later the Travers at Saratoga and the Woodward at Belmont lead to the season ending big prizes at the Breeders Cup races.  At the end of these two seasons of thoroughbred action your goal is to be the Champion TRAINER.

 The Champion is the TRAINER, who at the end of the two seasons has the most prize money. A constantly updated leaderboard appears at the bottom left of the main screen/desktop.

 The game features specialized logic to keep the top horses on a real world trail towards the big races and a noteworthy feature is the ‘Road to the Triple Crown’ screen which pops up strategically and tracks progress of the classic hopefuls.

  Run races by choosing the 'Run Race' button or to bypass certain days choose 'SkipDay' in which case just the results of a particular day will show. Before watching each race  you have the option to view the horses in the post parade and place a bet before the off.

At any time view the horses in your care by clicking on the 'Stable' button. From here you can view their pedigree based on real world stallions. Your horse's ability will be somewhat  determined on his/her breeding. You can enter your own horses in races or choose to let the computer do this for you. Generally speaking the more valuable the race the stiffer the competition.

This game is designed to be simple to start playing but yet have features that draw you in longterm and give a lot of real world depth to the game.

 The developers of KEYsoft are already at work with ideas for the next version and also look to existing player base for further ideas.

 On the schedule at the moment is to add a claiming/sales feature plus a Pick 4 type multi race wagering option. Longer term a national hunt / steeplechase version is being mooted to add to existing 3 versions.

 TRAINER is available on-line from www.trainergame.com. A full functional demo version can be downloaded with the limitation that only 1 race can be run. If you like what you see submit payment by paypal and receive a license code to enable full functionality. Buyers can choose individual versions or instead choose best value option to enable all versions.
